The Great outdoors
…Mother Natures’ masterpiece
The gates of Retreat not only offer protection from the outside world, they are a portal to limitless fun and outdoor exploration. With over 770 acres of land and 26,000 acres of open water waiting to be explored beyond its gates, Retreat offers endless opportunities for outdoor fun.
One of the best ways to explore the densely covered landscape that wraps Retreat is by foot. With trails just outside your door, enjoy a stroll thru the terraced landscape while familiarizing yourself with the local flora and tree species.
One of the simplest joys in life comes from spending time on the boat with family and friends. Whether it’s a fun-filled day on the water skis, or a relaxing sunset ride along the shores, gliding through the clear, blue water always draws us closer to those most important in our lives. With a boat launching ramp conveniently located just outside Retreats front gate, access to water is as simple as backing up your trailer. Two privately operated marinas provide fuel, boat repair, rentals, supplies and other boater’s needs.
There’s no better way to enjoy a little adventure than by choosing your own path within the Retreat trail system. Our biking trails weave and wind for miles, giving you unlimited choice for exercise and activity.
Fishing is probably the most popular activity on West Point Lake. A dozen creeks and more than 40 square miles of lake provide plenty of good fishing spots for the discerning anglers who fish here regularly. The lake abounds with bass, catfish, crappie and bream.
The lakeside lawn overlooking the lake offers all the time tested games of the past, including bocce ball, crocket, horse shoes and tether ball!
If water skis and wakeboards satisfy your daring side, West Point Lake’s 26,000 acres of water provide many a desolate cove to discover offering ample opportunity to carve up the calm waters.
